It's about time this was updated!

I haven't added anything to this blog for some time - since before Covid, but I have only run a few races since that time. I have spent several months at a time working away, which doesn't do a lot for my running abilities!

In October 2022 I ran the Club Mykonos half marathon in a time of 2:56 and was 2nd lady in my age category.

In December 2023 I ran the Onrus 10km in a time of 1:19, and was 2nd lady in my age category.

This year, I ran the Peninsula Half Marathon (2:53) in February, and the Whale Coast Half Marathon (2:42) in March - where I came 2nd lady in my age category.

Then, in April, I completed the Brighton Marathon (6:07).

Let's see how we go from here!

COVID Running

After being repatriated back to South Africa and, finally, getting home in July, I started running and exercising again! I had put on far too much weight and felt very unfit, and something needed to be done!

I started a C25K plan, which I felt was the best way to restart my running. I also did some strength/toning work and stretching sessions. I graduated from the C25K on 9 August by doing a 5km virtual race. My time was 34:37.

I ran another virtual 5km on 6 September and managed a time of 33:18. I had lost a kg in weight and had done a month's more training, and was pleased with this result.

I then worked up to a 10km, by following a 10km plan and ran Cape Town virtual marathon 10k on 18 October in a time of 1:10:01.

On 31 October, I ran another virtual race, the Kleinmond Animal Welfare 5km. I did the same 5km as the two previous 5km runs and managed a time of 31:33. The weightloss and training is obviously working!

Then 'going to work' happened again!
